Information

Villefranche-de-Lonchat, is a village between the River Isle and Dordogne in Perigord, on the borders of Libourne, and boasts ancient origins and a past steeped in history.

Founded in the late twelfth century by King Edward I of England, the fortified town of Villefranche-de-Lonchat followed a Gallo-Roman villa and a Benedictine priory. The Hundred Years' War saw Villefranche pass, between the French flag and the English many times.
