Eymet is situated in the Périgord region, located on the River Dropt. It has been popular with UK buyers for many years, and this led to a reality TV series describing the life of various British expatriates in the Dordogne, with an emphasis on Eymet.
The bastide town of Eymet is really the economic centre of the area with a good selection of shops, restaurants, sporting, cultural & leisure facilities. There is an excellent market which takes place once a week, with lots of local produce and in the summer there is also a lively night market on Tuesdays.
The regional cuisine comprises hearty dishes which are created using the finest ingredients involving duck, goose, walnuts, truffles and prunes.
