Beaumont-de-Lomagne sits in the Tarn-et-Garonne department, and is well known for its market hall on the town square, for the markets that take place every Saturday, (since the C14th).
Beaumont remains an important agricultural market due to the cultivation of garlic. The town celebrates this with a very popular festival held every year in July. 80% of the land is used for agricultural purposes and is mainly dedicated to the production of cereal crops.
The town has many old buildings, most notably the church, its fortress, the large market with its distinctive roof, plus numerous private mansions, many dating back to the 17th, 18th & 19th centuries.
Breeding the "trotteur français" has been a tradition in Lomagne from the 19th century. So a great equestrian base here also.
