Gramat has a choice of cafes and restaurants from where you can sit and watch the world go by.
Gramat always has been the central focus for surrounding villages. There are two weekly markets held in and around the old covered market hall, with a general market on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month selling food, clothing and household goods.
The closest railway station is in Gramat itself, offering rail links to many nearby larger towns, with several trains a day. There are several aiports to choose between, the closest being the recent Brive / Vallée de la Dordogne airport.
Well placed for tourism, the town is convenient for Rocamadour, Padirac & Sarlat, plus of course, Cahors, famous for its rich dark red wines.
