Brantôme sits in the Dordogne department of South Western France, and since 1st  January 2016, it officially became Brantôme-en-Périgord.


Much photograhed for the Benedictine Abbey of Brantôme, the Romanesque bell tower is a reputed to be the oldest in France.


Known as the Venice of the Périgord, and from the images here, it is easy to see why. Situated at the gate of the Limousin Regional Natural Park, Brantôme is the jewel of the Dronne valley.
