Informations

Meyssac is situated in the Correze (Limousin region) in the centre of France at 25 km from Tulle, the department capital. Until 1738 the fortified town of Meyssac belonged to the Viscount of Turenne. The fortifications and the moat were built to protect its inhabitants from looters.  In the 18th Century, these fortifications became nothing more than useless ruins and were destroyed.

Meyssac is a charming small town, convenient for the city of Brive la Gaillarde, which enjoys a superb Saturday morning market.

Popular places to visit nearby include 3 of the "Plus Beaux Villages de France", Collonges-la-Rouge at 1 km, Turenne 7 km and Curemonte 9 km.
