There have been some changes within Allez-Francais during the 2nd half of the year, in that Hayley & Marcus Spain who had been working for us for 2 ½ years are no longer part of the team. Therefore if you should have any contact from them it would not be on our behalf and they have no permission to approach our clients.

In our last newsletter we featured our top tips for buying property in the current difficult market. The last 3 months have not made things any easier, although I think that we now know what the downturn has in store for us all.

The drastic measures required to try to kick-start the UK economy have seen Sterling fall to all time low levels (around 1.11 Euros to the £). Looking at a graph of the purchasing power of the Euro, there has been a steady climb since 2000, with the odd blip. But what this does show is a definite trend, so although UK clients may feel that the current rates between 1.11 and 1.20 are poor, these rates may look good in 2009 as 90 pence or even parity become a possibility. Once again this highlights the need for specialist currency advice. Our dedicated dealers will ensure that you get the best rate if you are buying or selling in the year ahead

For those clients selling, and returning to the UK, the current situation offers a very good opportunity, to reduce their prices so that they can capitalise upon the present strength of the Euro and facilitate a return to Great Britain whilst property markets are depressed.
