Newsletter 27, Q1 2008
Contents
WelcomeWelcome to the 1st newsletter of 2008. This issue we are reverting back to featuring some useful information plus of course several recent excellent properties. During the next few weeks, our website will be enhanced and some new features added, so watch this space. As always, our website is kept up to date on a daily basis, but there are other properties available that are not featured on the website.
British buyers will have noticed that the price of a house in £ Sterling terms will have risen by around 10% during the last few months. This is due to the strength of the Euro against the Pound. It once again emphasises the importance of getting the best rate when exchanging currency, and our relationship with the Foremost Currency Group. Our dedicated dealer, Adam Bobroff, will be able to secure the best rate for you, on preferential terms if you mention Allez-Français.
If you have a property to sell in the UK, we can also offer a new service via a property portal created in conjunction with the Foremost Property Group. So, if you are selling in the UK and you register via ourselves, we can promote your UK property FREE of charge on their new website. http://www.foremostpropertygroup.com What do you have to lose?
Getting to and from France is becoming easier and easier. New routes for budget flights are opening all the time, with La Rochelle becoming a very important hub now, accepting flights from 10 different UK & Irish airports. Poitiers has also announced a new route to Birmingham, in addition to the previous Stansted facility. Angoulême / Cognac airport also opens its doors in 2008 for UK flights. In addition Limoges has a wide selection of options, plus of course, Bordeaux and Nantes are both within 2 hours.
For the Spring, we are offering a special taster weekend, to include accommodation (3 nights) in a nearby Château, a day viewing property, a mini-workshop, and some free time to explore, all for under 200 Euros. Early booking is highly recommended as places are very restricted. E-mail for full details allez-francais@wanadoo.fr.
In the event that you are searching outside of our immediate area, we are working to develop working relationships with quality agents, and we are already able to offer property in the Loire, Languedoc, Côte d’Azur, and the Deux Alpes regions via our sister site www.frenchproperty4sale.com. Tricia Omar has recently taken on the role of Administrator for that business, and she will make all necessary arrangements for viewings ahead of your visit to these areas. Prices for a ski apartment start from below 100,000 Euros and offer superb value.
During the course of this year, we will also be launching a subscription newsletter, for a very reasonable 20 Euros per annum (or £15). This will be issued 6 times per annum and will examine in depth various aspects of house purchase in France, keeping you up to date with the latest developments, in an easy to understand format. If you are planning to buy in the near future, this could save you a lot of heartache and money, as we have also negotiated significant discounts with specialists such as solicitors for their services. The newsletter will not be available to visitors to the website – only upon subscription via allez-francais@wanadoo.fr
