Mortgages

  • French or UK Mortgages?
  • Should you consider a loan in Euros, or should you borrow the money from sources in the UK?
  • What are the advantages and disadvantages of each step?
  • How do interest rates compare?
  • What special terms are available at the moment?
  • Will life insurance be compulsory?

These are just a few of the questions that you need to ask yourself before proceeding with your French purchase. We have established links with leading lenders in France and also France's No 1 mortgage intermediary and will be happy to discuss your requirements to ensure that you get the best deal available. Normally, we are remunerated by the lender, so it is unlikely that a fee will be payable for this service.

1st option – We have partnered with BNP Paribas International Buyers to offer mortgages for numerous projects and purposes: main home, second home or rental properties. With more than 20 years of experience, BNP Paribas International Buyers are dedicated towards assisting its international clients throughout the buying process, from the initial search for the best mortgage solution right up to the payment of the final installment.

2nd option – We have also partnered with CAFPI, France’s No 1 mortgage broker. Established now for over 40 years, they have contacts with over 100 lenders to offer the best choice of schemes and rates available. (Some not available to individuals).

Since the 2009/10 banking reforms the lending criteria for French mortgages have become even stricter. Allez-Français can guide you through this minefield and, with a mortgage in principle offer in place, you will be in a significantly stronger position when it comes to negotiating the price on the property that you find.

Note: Your home is at risk if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or other loan secured on it. The local currency equivalent of your liability under a foreign currency mortgage may be increased by exchange rate movements. Notaire’s fees on any purchase must always be funded from your own savings and cannot be included in the mortgage.

We can source interest only loans as well. Please complete the Mortgage Quotation form and scan it back to us for a detailed quotation.
