Allez-Français was founded in 2001 by Peter Elias, a year after Bridget and Peter completed their own property purchase in France. Having spent a considerable amount of time searching for houses in France, we are all too aware of how time consuming and frustrating the process can be. We know that many agents will meet you at their offices and offer a portfolio of properties for you to browse through, even though you have made appointments to view specific properties a few days earlier. We don't work like that - we promise. (see below).

We would normally expect to spend a whole day with you on viewings, probably visiting 4-5 properties in the day. We prefer to spend 2 days with you if possible, we find that ensures that you will find that dream home. You won't be rushed and we will answer your questions during the time that we spend together. We are committed to dealing in a professional manner with all of our clients both vendors and buyers.

Having worked previously as a highly qualified independent financial adviser, Peter Elias is able to introduce clients to a network of advisers able to place business in all aspects of finance and insurance. Combined with our expertise in the French property market, we can pass on our knowledge to your advantage, making the whole process as hassle-free as possible.

As your purchase progresses, we will, where possible refer you to an English speaking Notaire. We can also introduce you to architects or surveyors, if required, who will be able to advise you upon the condition of your house or perhaps assist with drawings that you may require in connection with proposed improvements.

Bridget and Peter Elias live in the beautiful Dordogne Valley area of the Corrèze department, and also cover part of the Lot department, where they have been owners since 2007. Installed in France since the start of 2001, their 1st home was in the Poitou Charentes. Peter Elias previously worked as a financial adviser, but now is a fully registered Agent Commercial in France. Allez-Français Direct (AFD) started in 2010 to offer vendors and buyers the opportunity to deal as the name suggests directly with each other, but also using Allez-Français as an Intermediary. Our fees are lower than standard agency fees for this service, but many clients prefer to deal via a 3rd party, especially with negotiations over price.
