Allez-Français was founded in 2001 by Peter Elias, a year after Bridget and Peter completed their own property purchase in France. Having spent a considerable amount of time searching for houses in France, we are all too aware of how time consuming and frustrating the process can be. We know that many agents will meet you at their offices and offer a portfolio of properties for you to browse through, even though you have made appointments to view specific properties a few days earlier. We don't work like that - we promise. (see below).

We would normally expect to spend a whole day with you on viewings, probably visiting 4-5 properties in the day. We prefer to spend 2 days with you if possible, we find that ensures that you will find that dream home. You won't be rushed and we will answer your questions during the time that we spend together.

Peter Elias previously worked as a financial adviser, but now is a fully registered Agent Commercial in France. Previously he used to write regular columns for the local press in Coventry and Swindon, as well as broadcasting on BBC Wiltshire Sound and GWR radio stations. He now contributes regularly to French magazines and local journals on property and money matters

Bridget & Peter were joined by Hayley & Marcus Spain, in January 2006, and this couple now live in the same village as Bridget & Peter. Hayley & Marcus are both registered with Agent Commercial status and having a daughter doing well at school, are well qualified to answer questions about moving young families to the area. Hayley came from a banking / building society background, whilst Marcus was employed at a Leisure centre in the Midlands.

More recently, the team has been joined by Lesley Smith, covering the north of the Deux Sèvres, in the area around Argenton les Vallées. Lesley also comes from a building society / insurance company background. She is also a registered Agent Commercial.

We therefore have an enthusiastic team of people who love France and the French lifestyle. We are committed to dealing in a professional manner with all of our clients both vendors and buyers.

We are not an Estate Agency - we work with local and national professionals referred to as our 'selected business partners', this allows us to offer what we believe to be the best choice of property in the Poitou Charentes. When you wish to come and visit selected properties yourself we will take care of the agenda for your visit. We will arrange viewings with the agent and will accompany you, on these visits to facilitate communication and to ensure that all appointments are kept and run smoothly to avoid wasting your time.
