One of the main differences between buying a house in the UK and France, is that the 'contract' between buyer and seller, is signed at a much earlier stage in the process. The buyer also gets the benefit of a 10 day cooling off period.
All of our contracts are drafted by a Notaire - never by us as agents. We have seen too many examples of poorly drafted 'Compromis de Vente' that have been lacking in detail prepared by French agencies. We also have the deposit paid directly to the Notaire.
We feel that these are important aspects not practiced by all agents, for the reassurance of our clients.

BREXIT - What next?
So the UK has made its decision, and that is to leave the EU.
Many clients have suggested that the vote decision will actually push forward their decision to move to France, as they are saddened by the vote outcome. This is the start of what we are calling 'Brexodus'. The momentum for these clients to buy is an interesting development.
What is clear is that France is still a wonderful place to own a home, enjoy a superb, slower paced lifestyle, plus in the south west of course, we also enjoy fabulous weather.
